Suggestions for Books?
So I went through the ACM Library the other day and threw out all the books that were obviously outdated (any Java books before 1.5, etc. ) and tossed them in the "Going to Africa" box out in the Internet Cafe.
So that left me thinking...the normal way ACM acquires books is either by extremely generous students donating their old textbooks OR by professors giving us their hand-me-downs they're getting rid of because they're outdated anyway!
Because textbooks are so expensive and we normally get 1 or 2 every semester from gracious students, I'm going to limit this list solely to "Books Every CS Major Should Read", O'Reilly books, or anything else that's particularly cool and might actually get used.
Here's my quick list, feel free to add your own!
